This is where I get to list those places that I have found on the web that I REALLY like visiting. Some are pretty normal places, like Amazon.com, while others have slightly more exotic content.
My favourite places to look:
Nocrap Pages - one of the largest, and fastest collections of men out there. But needs Adult Check Gold, which looks to me like the rip-off of the century! This site was on Adultcheck, and then moved over to Gold, and they want to charge an additional $13 PER MONTH!
Everglades Book Company - looking for out-of-print books by GLB authors or with GLB themes - this is the place to go! Jim is really great at sniffing out those hard-to-find books.
A Different Light Book Store - a good place to browse for books. Friendly and helpful staff. Good service, although not entirely geared up for international business.
Afterwords Book Store - there choice of "special" says it all - Johan Paulik! Anybody who decides to go gaga over that boy has my vote! Not specifically geared for International Business, but EXCEPTIONALLY helpful.
Amazon.com - the original on-line bookstore. Great people to do business with.
The Foreskin Sight - one of the places that I have found that caters exclusively for natural men Worth a visit. I especially like the "scanned pictures" gallery, the "4-Fun" gallery contains a lot of pictures of all sorts of things that are not to my personal taste. REQUIRES ADULTCHECK. Others are:
Uncut Men REQUIRES ADULTCHECK.
GaynetCapeTown - this is a really good place to visit if you are visiting South Africa soon. Appears to be run by a travel agent in Cape Town (one of the most beautiful cities in SA). The gallery is great, but requires membership to see the South African guys. (But, they are worth it!) Requires ADULTCHECK for the other gallery.
Wildcat Press - Publishing the classic gay love story, "The Front Runner". This is the publisher owned by Patricia Nell Warren, who broke all records with "The Front Runner" in 1973. PNW's other books are also available through this site. 25 Years on, "The Front Runner" is still one of the top selling love stories. An exquisitely sensitive book, this book is guaranteed to affect your life. READ IT! PNW's latest book is "Billy's Boy", the third in the "Front Runner" series.
My Favourite Comic Strip is "Madam and Eve", a biting commentary on the situation in South Africa. If apartheid had Evita Bezuidenhout to deal with, then the ANC has Madam and Eve.
The Halcyonwebring is an impressive collection of sites and galleries offering pictures to suite all tastes. This is one of my favorite sites, and it is updated pretty regularly too, which is nice. REQUIRES MANCHECK or ADULTCHECK.
In touch for Men when gay porn magazines first became available (illegally) in South Africa, one of the first ones that I got my hands on was ITFM. ITFM is one of my favorite magazines to this day. Their website is OK, but not much more. If the postage wasn't so horrible, I would subscribe. A little nudity on the pages, but not a hell of a lot.
My favorite OS must be Windows 95, and that is only because I have not yet had the time yet to get acquainted with Win98. This is a site that is dedicated to doing what Microsoft should be doing, FIXING WINDOWS! The Windows stories page is very humorous!
Tom and Wes' Cool Site - this is one of those sites that I stumbled across a long time ago when I first started surfing. They use the site to tell all sorts of things. I haven't been there recently, but I do remember there own "Adventures of Priscilla", nothing like the movie. I don't think that the situation will have remedied itself. I wish you strength guys. Makes me thankful for the way in which my family has dealt with me coming out.
QWorld a great source of things queer on the web. Pay it a visit!
GLWEB a huge gay and lesbian search engine. Looking for something? Chances are if there isn't a link here to it, it ain't on the web!
Bill's Story - I was surfing the net the other day, not looking for anything in particular, when I stumbled across this site. This site tells the story of a mother trying to come to terms with her son's suicide. It is not a "pretty" site, the pain is raw and REAL. I have a huge amount of respect for Gabi who has put this site together. If you think that being gay is a joke, READ this site - the fear and prejudice DOES KILL!
The homepage of Brad Bergman. While surfing the net a while ago, I came across this site. It is Brad's chronicle of coming out and life and things like that. A very interesting site belonging to a very interesting guy.
28 Barbary Lane OnLine. This is a site about Armistead Maupin's "Tales of the City" series. I highly recommend the books, and the mini-series if you can get your hands on it. I haven't included the books on my review pages, as I haven't read them in years, and don't have copies with me at the moment.
Scott Bidstrup's Home Page. When I was facing coming out, this was a site that I relied on heavily. Scott has assembled a wealth of information on all aspects of coming out and how parents react, and what can be expected. Well worth a visit.
The Dumbentia Library is an entertaining site. Adverts for various products are parodied here in a very creative way. Highly recommeded are the "Seven Deadly Sins Motivational Posters". Be warned though that you will need Adobe's Acrobat Reader to view the parodies. The Reader is a freely available download from Adobe.
Missy's Page. Missy is another PFLAG-talker who visited my site, and asked me to link to hers. I have linked to her site as asked, but haven't had the chance yet to pay her site a visit - Internet problems have been all I have experieinced so far this month.
PFLAG-Talk I saw PFT mentioned on a number of sites, but could never find out much about it, then one day I found this link, and decided to join - my only regret is that I didn't join sooner. This is a wonderful group of people who are always willing to take a second (or more) to listen and advise. Sometimes things get a little heated, but we have 3 web-meisters who are there to make sure that the discussions stay within the guidelines. Worth a visit.
Secret Vampire's Gay Page this is a friend of mine's "gay" page - he is forced to be closeted at home, and this is where he rants and raves and generally gets things off his chest. Pay it a visit, it's worth it.
If anybody has more South African links they would like to see me add, then drop me a line and I will check out the URL, and include the link.
